The Events type allows you to create and manage events on your website. They were recently redesigned in September 2023 to help you showcase your event on clean, structured, and customizable page.

Editing in WordPress: All Events
You can add blocks to the top of the page. Paragraph blocks with Drop cap or an Intro Paragraph block add visual interest and help introduce visitors to the events.

Fields
When there are no events:
- Add a custom message such as “No upcoming events at this time, please check back later.”
- Add CTAs to promote other pages or subscribe to newsletters!
Past events:
- Add a custom heading and description for past events.
- Add a CTA to promote other pages such as the past events page (site-url/past-events)
- Display the four most frequent past events (Default) OR feature any four past events.

Best practices for featured image: use wider images
Wider images will pull content up on the page.
Narrow or tall images push content down the page.
Event Date and Time fields
Single day events that last all day or have no set time:
- Only Start: 08/17/2023 12am
Single day events with set time:
- Start: 08/17/2023 12pm
- End: 08/17/2023 1pm
Single day events with multiple times: *Do not set any end dates
- Start: 08/17/2023 9am
- Start: 08/17/2023 1pm
- Start: 08/17/2023 3pm
Spans multiple days: Different dates with same time 12am
- Start: 08/10/2023 12am
- End: 08/17/2023 12am
Single day event with multiple times example:
New Time zone field
New Description field:
- displays on the All Events + Current Events pages only.
Event types: Virtual, In-Person, or Hybrid
- In-Person and Hybrid types let you add an address.
- The address will generate a link to Google Maps.
New Message field: Add a message you want to share such as:
- “Registration is now closed.”
- “Submit questions for our event speakers.”
New Custom CTAs field: Add important links or resources such as:
- Webinar recordings
- Photo albums of the event
- ‘Submit Your Questions’ forms
Registration link: Appears as a red button.
- Add link text to make sure the button appears!

Use the column layout block to organize bios and images.

Tessa Misiaszek
