The Program Listing block allows you to pull a list of programs onto any page via the taxonomy categories associated with programs. They can be used to create subject-based landing pages or any other page where you want to highlight a set of related programs.
Program listing blocks behave slightly differently depending on the site you’re on, but are available for Extension (all programs), PDP (all programs) and Summer (study abroad).
Available On:
- Default template
- Top level page
- Blog posts
- Student stories
Extension Programs Listing
Title (optional): This provides a title above the block.
Header Type: Allow the editor to select the header type (H2 or H3). The title will default to using H2.
Description: An optional field that can be used to provide additional details or context below the block’s title.
Facts: Facts allows you to pull in 3 high-level stats about he programs you’re listing. Since the facts contain content like universal pricing, they’re maintained centrally in the Program Options
tab of the WordPress admin. The site has a set for Grad Degree and for Grad Certificate. YOu can customize the three facts anyway you like under those categories.
Facts are not required. So, if you’re listing programs that don’t apply to those facts, leave the Facts dropdown set to - Select -
and nothing will appear.
*** The “Facts” feature is no longer in use. This functionality has been removed from the code base. ***
Cards: A repeater field that allows you to display content in cards. Each card has an optional title field and a required description field. The cards will display three per row and will stack in mobile view. This feature is optional and replaces the “Facts” feature mentioned above.
Categories: The categories correspond to the categories you select when you create a program page. They include Level, Mode and Subject Area. Those lists of categories are controlled under the Programs
tab in the WordPress admin.
CTA Title: An optional CTA title that can replace the default title, “Program Details”, for the buttons of the listed programs.
(Since the docs site doesn’t have a ton of programs built out on it, we don’t show an example here. But you can try out the block on the site in draft mode to see the various options.)
PDP Programs Listing
Title: This provides a title above the block.
Categories: The categories correspond to the categories you select when you create a program page. They include Level, Mode and Subject Area. Those lists of categories are controlled under the Programs
tab in the WordPress admin.
A note about the Mode category: PDP programs have two areas where you select mode: at the program level and at the individual program date level.
So for example, if you run online and on-campus versions of the “Presenting with Impact” program, you would select both options at the program-wide level. Then, when you add a specific date, you indicate whether that date will run online or on-campus. The program listing block will default to pulling in mode as set for each date. If there is no date currently scheduled for that program but it remains live on the site, it will fallback to pull in the program-wide settings.
(Since the docs site doesn’t have a ton of programs built out on it, we don’t show an example here. But you can try out the block on the site in draft mode to see the various options.)
Summer Programs Listing – Abroad
Title: This provides a title above the block.
Categories: The categories correspond to the categories you select when you create a Study Abroad program page. They include Level, Mode and Subject Area. Those lists of categories are controlled under theStudy Abroad Programs
tab in the WordPress admin.
(Since the docs site doesn’t have a ton of programs built out on it, we don’t show an example here. But you can try out the block on the site in draft mode to see the various options.)
Summer Programs Listing – HS
If you wish to use this block to list the high school programs you can! Though it’s not primarily intended for this since there are only two programs and there are other blocks that can be combined to better showcase those two options. Here’s how to use this block though if you would like to.
Title: This provides a title above the block.
Facts: This is used for the Extension block. For summer, leave the dropdown to - Select -
and no facts will show up.
Categories: The categories correspond to the categories you select when you create a high school program page. They include Level, Mode and Subject Area. Those lists of categories are controlled under thePrograms
tab in the WordPress admin.
